Local History Nights
In 1993, former US Secretary of Education William J Bennett released his best-seller Book of Virtues. Inspired by Bennett’s book, our 2026 Local History Nights will feature 10 virtues that are reflected in the story of Miners’ Bay, Gull Lake, and Miners’ Bay Lodge and are all essential to success. We’ll look at loyalty, friendship, honesty, courage, self-discipline, perseverance, responsibility, compassion, work, and faith.
As in past years, postcards, artifacts, photographs, and other items will be utilized in presenting a variety of brief vignettes about local history. This year, individuals from Canadian history who personified each virtue will be featured.
Join us on Wednesday evenings at 8 - 9 pm.
